Usage Limits
Every voice plan includes a monthly allowance of talk minutes. This page explains what counts, what happens when you go past it, and where to watch your usage.
What counts as a minute
Voka bills connected talk time — the time a caller is actually in conversation with your assistant. Ringing that never connects doesn't count. Usage is metered per billing cycle and resets when your cycle renews.
Included minutes by plan
| Plan | Monthly price | Included minutes | Overage per minute |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAYG | $19 | 0 (pay per minute) | $0.45 |
| Light | $49 | 100 | $0.35 |
| Flex | $89 | 300 | $0.25 |
| Value | $149 | 600 | $0.18 |
| Commit | $229 | 1,200 | $0.18 |
Going over your allowance never cuts your assistant off — calls keep being answered, and additional minutes bill at your plan's overage rate on your next invoice.
SMS limits
The SMS add-on has its own message allowance:
| Tier | Monthly price | Included messages | Overage per message |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMS Starter | $14.99 | 200 | $0.04 |
| SMS Pro | $24.99 | 500 | $0.03 |
Two-way SMS conversations also have a per-conversation reply cap you can configure on the assistant's SMS tab, so a runaway thread can't burn through your allowance.
Where to watch usage
- Dashboard → Analytics shows minutes used this cycle and call volume trends.
- Billing → Invoices shows exactly what was billed each cycle.
Changing plans
You can move up or down a tier at any time from Billing. If you're regularly paying overage, the next tier up usually costs less than the overage does — the pricing page has a calculator.
Usage alert emails (get notified at a percentage of your included minutes) are in development. Until then, the dashboard is the place to check.
