Keeping Your Existing Number

Voka doesn't port (transfer) phone numbers. You don't need to: you keep your business number with your current phone company and forward calls to your Voka number.

How it works​

  1. Get a Voka number in the portal (see Getting a Phone Number).
  2. Set up call forwarding with your phone carrier. You can forward all calls, or only calls you don't answer or that come in while you're busy. The dial code depends on your carrier (for example *72, or *71/*73 on some carriers).
  3. Callers keep dialing the number they already know. Voka answers the forwarded calls.

You can undo forwarding with your carrier any time, and your number stays yours the whole time.

Questions​

Will callers see a different number?​

No. Callers dial your existing business number. Forwarding happens on your carrier's side.

What if I want the Voka number to be my main number?​

You can publish your Voka number directly on your website and listings. Many businesses start with forwarding and keep it that way.
